KAREENA KAPOOR was born on 21st September 1980 in Mumbai, India. This popular Bollywood Actress is a small part of the Kapoor Empire known as ‘Bebo’ in her own family. She is the daughter of the Well known Actor Randhir Kapoor and Actress Babita, who had divorced when Kareena was at a young age. Karishma Kapoor is her elder sister who is a popular and successful Actress in the Bollywood Industry while Rishi Kapoor, the most handsome and talented Actor in the industry are one of their Uncles. The family doesn’t ends here. Its going further with the relationship of her maternal aunt Sadhana and her cousins Shivani Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Nikhil Nanda who had married to Big B - Amitabh Bachchan Loveliest Daughter Shweta Bachchan (now Shweta Nanda).
Kareena use to accompany Karishma to her film shoots during her young days. Kareena’s first ambition was to become a Lawyer though she was born in a Filmy Family Background. She was a student of Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai but later on shifted to Welham Girl’s Boarding School in Dehradun. She then completed her Higher Education with Commerce Stream from Mithibai College, Juhu in Mumbai and moved on to Harvard where she admitted in Microcomputers and Information Technology. Kareena finally persuaded her acting career after completing her 12th Studies and attended the vast Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School.
Kareena’s first Debut film was supposed to Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kaho Na…….Pyaar Hai’ Starring Kareena and Hrithik Roshan but the relation didn’t go well and she left the film. She them made her debut with J.P. Dutta’s ‘Refugee’ casting Abhishek Bachchan. Kareena had Played a character - role of a Pakistani girl and won her debut Award for the film. Though Kareena had debuted with ‘Refugee’ but she had first signed with and started her work on the movie ‘Ajnabee’. As there was a technical problem in the Film Editing scene, the release of this film was kept on testing and was post-ponded for many months. She had sang a song title ‘Jab Nahi Aye The Tum’ in ‘Dev’ for herself. Kareena is been Rumored and counted in the list of one of the highest paid Actresses along with Actress Aishwarya Rai. She has a very close friendship with Actress Amrita Arora.

Her next movie was Balaji’s Production ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’ in 2000 with Tushar Kapoor that gave her only commercially success at the box-office. But blockbuster like Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham’ and ‘Ashoka’ in 2001 helped her in getting critically acclaim and commercial success also. Her work in both the film was appreciated a lot than any other film in her life. Kareena received her second acclaim for the film ‘Chameli’ in 2004 where she played a role of a Prostitute and later won Filmfare Special Performance Award for the movie.
Mean while she had signed lots of film but that ones failed to do well at the box-office and resulted into flops. At that time Kareena was dating Shahid Kapoor, the son of veteran Actor Pankaj Kapoor. Then movies like ‘Yuva’ and ‘Dev’ gave her the same appreciation which she had received it before and also received a Critics Award in the Filmfare for Best Performance. Kareena received more commercial success and her talent and hard work made her the popular Actress after the release of the films like ‘Aitraaz’ and ‘Hulchul’ in the year 2004. She was then offered ‘Chup Chup Ke’ and ‘36 China Town’ in 2006 and both of them resulted into a moderate success. Both the film was accompanied with boyfriend – Shahid Kapoor.
Kareena once again received good acclaims form the audiences as well as the critics for her work in the film ‘Omkara’. Her performance was Shocking for some and Suprising for the rest. Eventually her recent film release tilted as ‘Don- The Chase Begins’ directed by Farhan Akhtar had received good reviews from the Audiences and many of them in the Bollywood Industry.

AWARDS IN 2006 : Kareena was Awarded Smita Patil Memorial Award For her Outstanding Contribution towards the Indian Film Industry.
